Olympic bobsledder, Valerie Fleming, chose Hoopes Vision Correction Center for her vision correction procedure. During Valerie’s initial evaluation, Dr. Hoopes determined that she was a great candidate for PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy).

Valerie graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1998 with a degree in communications. While at UCSB she was a decorated track star in the javelin event. She continued her education at St. Mary’s College, earning a Master’s degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. She began bobsled in 2003 and just three years later won a silver medal at the Olympic Games in Torino, Italy with driver Shauna Rohbock. The team has gone on to win at least 22 international medals together, including three World Cup gold medals. When Valerie isn’t competing, she enjoys spending time with her nephews Nicholas and Brandon. Congratulations on your new and improved vision, Valerie!
